Bellagio

Known as “the pearl of Lake Como”, Bellagio is a truly enchanting place, with its elegant lakeside promenade, its luxury villas overlooking the water—such as Villa Melzi d’Eril, a national monument—and its splendid gardens, including the Park of Villa Serbelloni, with panoramic terraces, shaded paths and breathtaking views of the lake.

In the historic centre, the Church of San Giacomo is a notable example of Lombard Romanesque architecture.

At the tip of the promontory, Punta Spartivento offers one of the lake’s most iconic views.

Not far away, the hamlet of Pescallo is an ancient fishing village that has preserved its timeless charm.

Tremezzina

Tremezzina is a central lake village made up of ten hamlets, renowned for its historic villas, lush gardens and stunning views.

Among its treasures are Villa Carlotta, with its magnificent park and works of art, and Villa del Balbianello, once home to distinguished writers and travellers, and a famous film location featured in Star Wars and 007.

Teresio Olivelli Park is a charming place in every season.

The only island on the lake, Comacina Island was once an important defensive and religious centre.

Set in the hills, the Sanctuary of the Madonna del Soccorso—a UNESCO World Heritage Site—is a place of both spirituality and beauty.

Griante

Overlooking the western shore of the lake, Griante enjoys splendid views of Bellagio and the surrounding mountains.

Among its historic residences, Villa Maresi stands out for its English Neo-Gothic style and well-tended park.

The Anglican Church of the Ascension serves as a place of worship and hosts cultural events, while the Church of Saints Nabore and Felice, with its slender bell tower, is the parish church of the village.

Griante is the starting point for several scenic walks, including the beautiful Adenauer Promenade that winds along the lakefront.

A path through woods and meadows leads to the Church of San Martino, set on a natural terrace at 475 metres above sea level, offering one of the area’s most breathtaking panoramic viewpoints.

Menaggio

Overlooking the western shore of Lake Como, Menaggio is a village rich in historical, artistic and natural beauty.

Among its highlights are the scenic lakeside promenade, offering views of rare beauty; the Church of Santo Stefano, with its fine frescoes; and the ruins of Menaggio Castle, a medieval fortress that towers above the village, offering breathtaking panoramas.

Unique views can also be enjoyed from the Belvedere La Crocetta, with its remains of the Cadorna Line trenches and the small Alpini Chapel, and from Rifugio Menaggio, one of the area’s most popular hiking destinations.

Varenna

Varenna is a picturesque fishing village nestled between the lake and the mountains.

A place of charming and romantic atmosphere, best experienced along the famous Lovers’ Path—a walkway suspended over the water, especially stunning at sunset when the village’s colourful houses reflect in the lake.

Must-see attractions include the ancient Romanesque-style Church of San Giorgio; Villa Monastero, with its marvellous botanical gardens; and Villa Cipressi, with its beautiful terraced gardens overlooking the water.

Towering above the village is the ancient Castello di Vezio, offering unique views of the lake.
